2021 Jeep Compass vs 2020 Jeep Compass

Serving Geneva, NY

The Jeep Compass fits in between the Renegade and the Cherokee in the Jeep SUV lineup, a unique size category not offered by most other automakers. The Compass is compact, versatile, and well-equipped whichever model year you choose, although it adds some more amenities in 2021. There are more standard advanced safety aids in some trims for 2021, including the Trailhawk and the Limited. There is also an 80th Anniversary package available to give your 2021 Compass a bold signature look. There are some modifications to the Jeep's performance amenities between the two years, including eliminating the manual transmission as an option in 2021.

The Jeep Compass has the same performance capabilities in 2021 and 2020. It has one engine for all trims in both years. The Jeep Compass is powered by a 2.4L gasoline engine that can produce up to 180 HP. The Jeep's engine has 175 LB-FT of torque power. Most trim levels have front-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain except for the Trailhawk, which gets all-wheel drive standard instead. All-wheel drive is offered on the other trim levels. You will get a six-speed transmission with a front-wheel drive and a nine-speed transmission with all-wheel drive.

The Compass's first trim in both model years has steel wheels, but you'll get alloy wheels beginning with the second trim, which is the Latitude. The Latitude adds automatic headlights and fog lights, and it also gets roof rails. A raised suspension system comes with the Trailhawk, which also has off-road tires to enhance its sporty look. The base features and list of available exterior amenities are the same for the Compass in 2020 and 2021. Along with the standard exterior components, the Compass can be accessorized with xenon headlights and a power liftgate. Some exterior add-ons are limited to certain trims.

More safety features are added to the Jeep Compass in 2021 if you get the Limited or Trailhawk trims. The Jeep has automatic climate control to start with, and its technology includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with a seven-inch touchscreen. USB ports are standard in the first two rows. A leather wheel, keyless entry, and remote start are added on the Latitude. The Limited upgrades to an 8.4-inch touchscreen interface, and it gains heated seats finished with leather. Hill descent control is added as a safety feature to the Trailhawk.
